About Us

The Founder, Dr. Philipp B. Schuster

From a young age I already had concerns about learning more about sustainability. One of my former high school teachers inspired me a lot and since then my path was to know and learn more about sustainable economics.

In the last 20 years my personal mission was to be more sustainable. I soon realized that there are many challenges to face and many things to learn. I experimented a lot to see new ways of living and doing business.

During my subsequent studies at the University and my career, I was always eager to understand more and find solutions to the most important challenges in the world. Fortunately, I found the value of the collaboration and realized that many hands are already making a great effort.

When I learned about permaculture and regenerative agriculture, I realized how damaged our food system is and how this affects us as human beings. Since then, I wanted to learn and share more about how to establish systems that allow humans and nature to thrive.

On the economic side, the Economy for the Common Good and Corporate Sustainability is the center of my interest. Understanding how companies and institutions, as well as individuals can contribute to a sustainable future, is key for me and for our courses.

During my personal career, I realized that sustainability is an issue that should pay special attention to the human beings and their relationships. Sustainability without humanity is like a dead cause. This is good intention without action! For that reason, I feel in my heart that our school offers courses that help us grow as individuals on the social and emotional level and help us act now!

Everything is a seed and I strongly believe in the high value of the seed that we sow every day. It is a daily job to sow and cultivate the right seed and only with patience and resistance will a good harvest come. So let’s put our hearts to work and sow together good practices for sustainability.

I hope to welcome you one day to Seeds for Sustainability ».

We want you to become the engine of change

Vision

We are passionate about nature and we want our environment to be greener and regenerative. Green is health, hope and regeneration.

Our vision is to be a school based on cutting-edge research and industry knowledge on the issues of sustainability and healthy living. We want to plant many seeds for sustainability in many companies, institutions and hearts of many people.

In this way we want to contribute to:

  • To create a regenerative society where people live in harmony with people and with nature.
  • that economic activity contributes to the maximum for the common good of all.
  • that the school is a reference in Europe in training in sustainability and healthy living issues.
  • Offer fun and inspirational training that are like seeds in the heart of the company and the persons and that will lead to change.

Mission

Our mission in Seeds For Sustainability is to empower people to be the engine of change.

We understand our courses as seeds for sustainability and our philosophy is based on a well-known parable:

A farmer went out to sow his seeds… .. These seeds fell in good soil. They sprouted, grew and bore fruit, some of which multiplied thirty, sixty or hundreds of times (Gospel of Mark, 4 The Parable of the Sower)

In the same way we believe in learning to help us grow and improve for a better future, preparing the ground for sowing and thus producing a good harvest. We believe that each seed counts and the more we sow, the more we will reap.

In this way we want:

  • Empower people through education and capacity development.
  • Offer courses to people who are willing to lead the change.
  • Offer tools that allow you to manage this change.
  • Offer courses that are like seeds for sustainability.

OUR SEED – OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMON GOOD

Promote Renewable Energy & Energy Transition

Promote Renewable Energy & Energy Transition

We are committed to renewable energy and the energy transition. That means that we invest in the production of clean energy and that we promote self-consumption systems, shared production and a diverse energy mix.

Soil Regeneration and Co2 Sequestration

Soil Regeneration and Co2 Sequestration

We want to integrate the principles of permaculture in our company. Therefore we use and value diversity. In this sense, we are committed to increasing biodiversity and soil quality. Healthy soils are able to capture a large amount of C02 and thus reduce our carbon footprint.

Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater Harvesting

We harvest rainwater with different storage systems. This is in accordance with the principle of “capture and save energy”. This allows us to use more sustainable resources and in the future will facilitate an abundant production system

Living with animals

Living with animals

"Take care of the earth - take care of people." To learn and to be inspired by nature, it is important to live with animals. The idea is to create a permaculture system that allows living in natural circular systems. Animals play a key role in this environment.

Cooperation and Co-creation

Cooperation and Co-creation

We believe in the value of cooperation. Therefore we work many times in networks and thus take advantage of the synergies between the strengths of each one. We also believe that we can always learn from each other and that is why we want to promote co-creation, be it within projects, courses, workshops or other activities.

Fair prices

Fair prices

To encourage an economy of the common good we see one key to incentivize certain things through price policy. Therefore we offer discounts for self-employed, unemployed, NGOs and sustainable companies.

Barter and Local Economy

Barter and Local Economy

Especially during financial crises it is noted that the monetary system has its failures. Here we also focus on diversity and want to promote barter and local economy.

Familiy Friendly

Familiy Friendly

Both courses and work are designed to be designed in a way that also suits family needs. This means that schedules are compatible as much as there is empathy between students, clients and our team.

Online work and Flexible Work Hours

Online work and Flexible Work Hours

For the work-life-balance it is important to offer flexible work hours. Most of our work is online, thus it offers various possibilities to be flexible.

Tree Nursery & Reforestation

Tree Nursery & Reforestation

The course that plants trees .... needs trees! Therefore, we put our seed for reforestation on our small farm. In addition, we collaborate with local agents.

Vegetable Garden

Vegetable Garden

We want to be prosumers because we believe that we must change from a consumer society to another model. A part of the solution is to start producing oneself. We take care of a garden with vegetables and medicinal plants and also take care of fruit trees and apply permaculture designs.

Small IT Footprint & Green Hosting

Small IT Footprint & Green Hosting

Our product has a very digital approach therefore we are clear about responsibility to take good care of our technological footprint. Therefore, we do not change our IT equipment exaggeratedly, we buy many second-hand things and we also have Green hosting with our collaborators of the economy of the common good.
